dvLED for Virtual Production

On an LED volume the wall is the set, the light and the background at once. It has to hold color and detail perfectly, stay locked to the camera, and run at high frame rates without a scan line or a flicker in the shot.

The challenge

What this room demands

Locked to the camera

Precise synchronization so there are no scan lines, no tearing and no surprises in the take.

High frame rate, no compromise

Frame rates up to 240 Hz while color and detail stay fully intact.

Right on camera, not only to the eye

What the sensor records is what counts, from color fidelity to moire behavior.

Every detail ends up in frame

Reflections, spill and edges all land in the final image, so nothing can be left to chance.

The TRUE approach

A volume that behaves the same, take after take

TRUE builds dvLED volumes on XF+ and XR panels driven by the ERMAC control system. Panel and control are engineered together, so the volume stays predictable under the camera.

Up to 240 Hz

XF+ panels built for realtime capture, with a horizontal scan architecture suited to the camera.

Pantone validated, 26 bit

The ERMAC Color Space Engine holds color across brightness and across batches, so grading starts from a true source.

Fixed or rental

The XF+ series for permanent volumes, the XR series at 1.9 for touring and rental builds.

One calibrated system

Because we make both halves, the wall, the processing and the sync are tuned as a single system.

Proof

Where it earns its place

Studios building LED volumes choose TRUE for camera accurate color and stable high frame rate performance, backed by European engineering and support.

FAQ

Virtual Production questions

What frame rate does an LED volume need?

It depends on the camera and the shot, and TRUE supports frame rates up to 240 Hz so the wall keeps pace with high speed capture without scan lines.

How do you avoid moire and scan lines on camera?

A horizontal scan architecture, precise synchronization and end to end calibration keep the image clean for the sensor, not only for the eye.

Can the same panels serve rental and permanent volumes?

Yes. The XF+ series suits permanent volumes, and the XR series at 1.9 is built for touring and rental, both on the same ERMAC control system.
